ACADEMICS

Bhagat International School, establishes the need to recognize the child as a natural learner and knowledge, as the outcome of the child’s own activity. The nursery stage, being the foundation of every child’s basic education, focuses on this child-centered pedagogy. The children actively construct their own knowledge of language, environmental studies and number work on the basis of materials and activities presented to them. Concrete material, contextualized examples, story-telling, interactive discussions, observations, project work, demonstrations, audio-visual aids, and excursions, all find place in the teaching-learning process. Focusing on the all-round personality development of its students, a lot of emphasis is given to the creative arts and physical education through Music, Dance, Art and Craft, Judo etc
Important festivals and birthdays of great leaders and philosophers are celebrated with pomp and joy to inculcate true Indian values and cultural heritage in students. Special Days like Friendship Day, Grandparent’s Day, and Smile Day etc. are celebrated incorporating special activities to let the children understand their significance in a fun-filled and effective way.

 

Primary Section

The primary learners are exposed to a vibrant process of learning which promotes and develops creative thinking and rational understanding in them. The students are engaged in constructive activities which stimulate them intellectually.

The different disciplines taught are English, Hindi, Math, E.V.S, General Knowledge and Computers. These widen their perspective to deal with real life situations effectively

A wide range of co-curricular activities are offered to the students to ensure their wholesome all-round development. These activities are incorporated into their Academic Time Table whereby they have an opportunity to learn the basics of these skills through regular exposures.

Senior Section

VI to VIII students are offered the following subjects:-

English, Hindi, Math, Social Science, General Science, Sanskrit, General Knowledge and Computers.

SCHOOL DECORUM

1. All rules and regulations are meant to provide a secured environment where students can study, work, socialize and play. Therefore, we ask all the students, teachers, parents and visitors to follow these rules that are conducive to a healthy learning atmosphere at BIS. Please follow all the rules and procedures that are listed. No one is allowed to:-

  • Waste time in idle gossip.

  • Shout, yell and speak loudly.

  • Use mobile phone.

  • Smoke drink or chew tobacco in school.

  • Keep hands in the pockets while talking to others.

  • Overtake seniors/guests while walking in the hallway.

  • Walk away without greeting people.

  • Interrupt when somebody is speaking.

  • Be discourteous.

  • Disfigure or damage any school property.

  • Use violence in any form.

  • Practice untouchability, caste-ism and communism.

 

2. Students are expected to respect the property of others. This includes respect for school property. No student must damage any school furniture, write or draw anything on walls, furniture or in any way damage things that belong to others. Damage done, even by accident, should be reported at once to the Class Teacher or the Principal. Any damage done will be made good by the one who causes it.

3. The School is not responsible for the goods lost. It is advisable not to bring or wear valuable articles (like jewellery, expensive watches, pens, mobiles, I Pods,cameras,pen drive CD or other items) to school. If your ward needs to bring any of the above mentioned items, it should be deposited with the Class Teacher for the day. In case, the student is found carrying any of these valuables or banned items they will be confiscated and will not be returned. The list of the banned items is:-

  • Comics, novels, undesirable magazines, slam books etc.

  • Any type of sharp objects or weapons.

  • Any addictive edibles like : chewing gum, tobacco, betel nut, drugs etc.

  • Expensive toys, jewellery, watches, CDs, MP3s, I pods, Walkman, earphone, camera.

  • Fire Crackers, lighters, match boxes or colors.

  • Mobile phones with or without sim card.

  • ​

4. BIS provides education from Pre - School to class VIII. Therefore it is expected that the juniors be treated with love and affection by the seniors while the juniors show respect to their seniors.

 

5. Students are expected to maintain discipline while travelling in the school bus. In case a student violates the school rules or indulges in any form of indiscipline, strict action like expulsion/suspension shall be taken against the student.

 

6. The observance of rules of discipline of the school and good behavior is an essential condition to a student’s continuance in the school. The school reserves the right to suspend or take strict corrective action against a student whose diligence or progress in studies is constantly unsatisfactory or whose conduct is harmful to other students.

 

7. Guidelines to uphold decorum:

  • Students should accept the work assigned to them as their rightful share.

  • Students should face difficulties courageously.

  • Students should always be ready to lend a helping hand to all-at home, in school and to the visitors.

  • Students should be truthful, whatever be the cost.

  • Students should never be cruel.

  • Students should respect the liberty and rights of others.

  • Students should maintain the beauty of the class rooms and of the school premises and report any damage they may observe.

  • Students should abide by and uphold school decorum.

CURRICULUM

Bhagat International School is providing a dynamic approach towards education with the changing needs of society and constant endeavors on the part of administrators and teachers. Our curriculum and Instruction method keep pace both with advances in the scientific world and with ever changing societal demands.

Continuous And Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE):

Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) refers to a system of school based evaluation of a student that covers all aspects of a student development. It is a developmental process of student which emphasizes on two fold objectives. These objectives are continuity in evaluation and assessment of broad based learning and behavioral outcomes on the other.

 

Scholastic Areas:-

Assessment in Scholastic areas is done informally and formally using multiple techniques of evaluation continually and periodically. The diagnostic evaluation takes place at the end of unit/term test. The causes of poor performance in some units are diagnosed using diagnostic tests. These are followed with appropriate interventions followed by retesting.

 

Co-Scholastic Areas:-

Assessment in Co-Scholastic areas is done using multiple techniques on the basis of identified criteria, while assessment in Life Skills, Attitudes and values is done on the basis of Indicators of Assessment and Checklists by organizing various workshops and Exhibitions and Educational Visits.

CO - CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

True education is training the body, the mind and the soul. Striving for excellence in the students in its care, Bhagat International School offers an array of co-curricular activities. These will complement the academic courses to enrich the life of the school community and to help the students enhance their personality physically, emotionally, and socially. Physical Education is given as much importance as academics.

Students are provided ample opportunities to choose activities depending on his/her aptitude and interests. Introduction of Co-curricular Activities in continuation with our efforts to foster an all-round development of students, they will be imparted practical lessons in the development of finishing touch and soft skills like etiquette, table manners, grooming etc. which have become an intrinsic part of our lives.

  • Teacher’s Day

  • Festival’s Celebrations

  • Health & Sports Week.

 

The students during these special Days or Week are involved in such a manner that they grasp the essence of celebration in its appropriate cultural context.
